What I've Been Looking For

I've been looking for a urine director to use on camping trips for more than fifteen years. This viral video was compelling enough that checked out the product and it arrived today. The customs tag (it's australian) called it a "travel accessory." I tried it out already, and I think it is a keeper. It was the WhizBiz website that sold me more than the commercial.

Albert Hoffman

Albert Hoffman, the first person to experience LSD, died yesterday. NPR's obituary was full of lies including nonsense about LSD damaging chromosomes, which it doesn't. Here's a responsible obit. (And the NPR announcer mispronounced "diethylamide.") The SF Chronicle obit already contains several corrections and clarifications. MAPS currently has a memorial as their home page.

Santa Cruz Mountains Gem

This year, I hope to visit all the places in The Santa Cruz Mountains Trail book. Last weekend I camped at Uvas Canyon County Park in the Santa Clara county section of the mountains. I chose it because the guidebooks promised waterfalls. I found much more. More...
