Global Warming: The Little Things

We're haven't a very late "indian summer." This week it is 70, nearly 80 degrees. Last week, we noticed the butter had melted. Why?

The butter was in its usual place on this countertop, near the front edge. It melted last week because it is November and the sun is low enough in the sky to shine on the butter. Usually, in November, we don't get NINE HOURS OF SUNSHINE!
