{Places to Visit}

Andrew Molera

I've only stopped at Andrew Molera, never camped. Yet another think to add to my list of places to visit. I didn't know there were so many great hikes. I thought it was just a place to camp.

California Spirit

I have seen this book at Bookshop Santa Cruz, but now that I see the website, I want it even more. How fun it would be to tour temples and sacred spots in California. The author, Eric Davis, has an interesting website that includes an article on Druid Heights that I hope to read later today.

Spiritual Places in Ireland

I came across this conference, Garravogue Festival of Arts and Healing which I would never attend, even if I could afford it, but the list of places to travel to afterward was a good one. More...

Allied Arts Guild

The Mercury had a story about the Allied Arts Guild a few weeks ago. I hardly ever visit the places on the penninsula that I think I'm going to visit (like Fioli) but I'll put this note here in the blog so I don't have to hang onto the newspaper clipping anymore.

The Laura Ingalls Wilder Trip

This is a road trip I've wanted to take for 30 years. I've never seen a nice map of it like this. "On the Banks of Plum Creek" was my favorite, and it didn't know until now that you can visit that creek. It's not that I want to "fondle the artifacts," no. I want to visit the countryside that she grew up in, and it appears that some of it is still left. I'll like to go see.

Pecho Coast Trail

We're on vacation today and tomorrow. Hurrah! No computers and no phones! But first, I'm surfing around looking for interesting things to do in San Luis Obispo county. Things like the Pecho Coast Trail. When I was younger, people I knew climb around this area attempting to show that Diablo Canyon was NOT safe from terrorists. Now, apparently, people can just walk in and watch the otter puppies.

The Other Big Trees

I visited the Grant Grove of redwood trees almost every summer when I was a child, but I have never seen the Calaveras Grove. It's on Highway 4, one of the oldest roads in California; another highway that I haven't spent much time on.

Lewis and Clark Travel Plan

Sunset magazine (March 22004) has a rather late article about Lewis and Clark tours; most publications made theirs available last summer. This one was the best written and easiest to follow. More...

Rather than actually traveling, I can use this list of URLs from the Mercury News Travel section that allow me to travel the Lewis and Clark route without leaving the couch. More...
